I Opened My Heart, it's All Over This Page.

Nature, My Darling, Hold Me Once More.

When I wake in a disgruntled panic,

I know I need to go outside.

Immediately.

I know I need to stretch my limbs

Immediately.

I know I need a place where trees are more prominent than people.

Immediately.

As I hurry towards my favorite path,

I see the numbers on the houses going up, up, up,

As my panic level goes down, down, down.

As I breathe in

The scent of that musky outdoor air

Fills my lungs and soul.

I exhale.

And I know I am okay.

Nature holds safe space for me.

She reaches her arms out and holds me

She lets me cry.

Sob.

Panic.

Like weeds, she pulls it all out of me.

She

Lets me feel

Everything.

She stands strong.

So grounded, so generous, so supportive.

She is magically receptive.

As I release feelings and thoughts and pain

The winding path beneath me

Absorbs it all.

The whistling wind

Provides a mystical soundtrack.

Those glittering wind bells

Soothe my wounded soul.

The breeze picks up.

Howling now,

It gives me wings.

And I howl, too.

I feel capable

To soar through life

And remain grounded, too.

Nature, my darling

Hold me once more.

My weary soul is crying out for you.

Nature, my darling

Hold me once more.

I’m longing for your soft embrace.

Nature, my darling

Hold me once more.
